Great Lengths are polymer tipped strands of human hair that are fused to a small section of the client’s hair. For a lengthening service, 200-300 of these strands are applied for a 100% custom installation. Great Lengths last on average for 3-5 months in the hair with minimal salon maintenance between installation and removal.

Once the strand is fused to the hair, the attachment point is about the size of a grain of rice and virtually undetectable. Multiple different shades can be mixed and matched to create a one-of-a-kind blend.

We start with a thorough consultation before the appointment even begins. We will ask about your hair history, long term goals, and lifestyle to formulate a plan for both the upcoming service and for future appointments.

At the in-person consultation, we will discuss length, required maintenance, and pricing.

Once the client decides they would like to move forward with the extension service, we’ll first schedule a color appointment if it is needed. If a color appointment is not needed, we will color match the client so that hair can be ordered.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking the installation appointment.

Before the installation, your stylist will prepare your hair extensions by cutting the polymer to the appropriate size and do any necessary pre-blending or coloring so that you have a seamless install from day one.

On the day of your install appointment, please bring something to keep you occupied. While we love our clients and getting to visit with them during their appointments, a typical Great Lengths installation can take anywhere from 3-8 hours and talking throughout the service can unintentionally add extra time to the appointment.

By keeping the distractions to a minimum, we can ensure an efficient installation appointment and higher quality work.

Once the install is complete, your stylist will cut the extensions to blend into your natural hair so that no one will ever know you are wearing extensions.

If the client is 100% satisfied with their new hair, their stylist will go over the recommended home care protocol step-by-step, as well as provided a written copy of the home care instructions for the client to reference as needed.

Your stylist will also schedule a follow-up consultation 2 weeks after the install appointment if the client has never had Great Lengths before. This will allow the stylist to make sure they are following the correct maintenance steps as well as giving the client the opportunity to ask any questions that may have come up in the first two weeks.
